*VERMEIL is a type of gold finished material that is composed of a thick layer of gold over solid sterling silver. For metal to be considered vermeil, it needs to meet three main trade criteria:
– Base of high-quality sterling silver
– A thick gold layer of at least 10k
– Industry regulated gold thickness of no less than 2.5 microns
